"Fried" with Epic

Storm FM Fridays 9pm - 12 midnight

Over the last three and a half years Epic (Ged) has established himself as one of the most prolific and highly respected DJs on the Manchester underground circuit. Now playing regularly for such nights in and around Manchester as Metamorphosis, Havok, Octarine etc, and with his super charged scouse charisma, he was an obvious choice to head a show representing all varieties of slammin' underground techno, acid and trance.

As well as DJing and studying for a masters in Maths and Physics he finds time to write articles for Wax magazine and M8, sometimes using his real name "Ged Matthews" instead of his DJ name, for different subjects.

The concept behind the show is to give an overview of different aspects of acid, trance and techno that a lot of people would not have the guts to do.
The show format is as follows:

9pm
Classics, old tunes and requests. Please phone the Storm FM office or email if you want to request a track.
9.30pm

10.00pm

10.15-ish

11.00pm

12.00am
Show ends and Jon Berry takes over.

Guests:

27th February:
M-Zone - The man who runs UK-44 records, manages Boscaland records, and has his fingers in many puddings in the hardcore scene. One of the few DJs to have the courage to play trance and techno to hardcore ravers and try to make them appreciate something other than sodding happy hardcore. He produces and plays a fresh lively blend of melodic trance and funky hard-trance.

6th March:
Bob Dog - An interview with the man who created Megadog in the mid-eighties and helped it develop into the ridiculous techno party that we know today. Megadog are in the process of their last ever tour and will be ending that tour at the Academy on March 7th.

13th March:
Molecular - The Manchester based acid techno PA have just released their first ever single on Turbulent Records and will be in session in the studio with brand new material before heading off to York the following night with Epic to start their countrywide tour.
20th March:
Julian Liberator - One of the men responsible for the surge in 'avin'it acid techno. A London based DJ and producer from the monster label Stay Up Forever Records, and many others. Talking about the free party scene and other messy subjects.

Keep your ear to the speaker for the chance to win CDs and other nonsense, and check out the weekly listing for an up-to-date guide on what's happening in Manchester.
