Freshly Cut

Storm FM Sundays Midnight - 2am

An innovative show, breaking the boundaries of drum 'n' bass for the twenty-first century.

Freshly Cut - The Club Night

Freshly Cut was set up over a year ago by DJs Dee and Elle. Together they wanted to promote a Drum 'n' Bass night that not only breached the boundaries of the music but also those created by Manchester gangland. By facing Manchester's problems head on, Freshly Cut has carved a distinct niche as one of the north's finest and safest Drum 'n' Bass nights.
Amongst others, this past year has seen the likes of Randall, Ed Rush, MC Dynamite and Grooverider on the decks. March 19th will be bringing together the talents of Andy C (Ram records), MC Skibadee, Da Intalex and MC Trigga alongside residents Dee and Elle.

DJ Dee - A Brief history

DJ Dee started his career as so many others, in the sweaty rave clubs around London in the early nineties. Through clubbing he made various contacts and eventually started working at London's renowned Remix Records selling hardcore as well as Drum 'n' Bass. Here he met a DJ called Steve B, more commonly known as a part of M-Beat (who had hits such as 'Incredible'). It was through Steve that Dee really got into Jungle and with the help of Steve's mate Ben he soon got to know more about the scene. Ben later went on to make a few tunes himself including the massive 'Super Sharp Shooter'. Two years ago Dee met Nico and started working at No-U Turn studios in West London and has helped with the label ever since.
His DJing has taken him all over the country and he is planning to DJ abroad later this year as part of the No-U Turn tour. Prepare to hear some of his own productions later in the year.

DJ Elle - A Brief history

Having been brought up in a family of musicians, Elle was destined to become involved in some aspect of music. Sneaky trips to techno clubs like Club UK at the age of twelve coupled with her deep love of the hip hop culture eventually led her to the opening night of a club called speed in London. From here onwards there was no turning back as she adopted the sound known as Drum 'n' Bass as her own. In a predominantly male scene Elle has always believed she can get a crowd moving as well as or even better than any of her male rivals; and she has proved this at nights such as the recent Freshly Cut.
Her talents have led her as far afield as Ireland and France and this year is looking very promising. She too has plans to make music this year as well as taking Freshly Cut to an international level.
